Congratulations to the returning champion of the Annual Junior High Spelling Bee, Margaret Haan, grade 8! She successfully spelled the word "malignant" to secure her second win following last year's competition. Another congratulations to the runner-up, Liam Jones-Zezenski, Grade 7.
If Margaret qualifies after the initial online preliminary finalist round, she will compete in the 4th Annual Diamond City Regional Spelling Bee, which is scheduled for March 10, 2024, at Wilkes-Barre Area High School. This event will include qualifying spellers from schools in Northeastern, Pennsylvania, the Lehigh Valley and beyond.
